Gail D. Slick, 75

Gail D. (Douglas) Slick, 75, wife of Walter “Sam” R. Slick Jr., passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Einstein Hospital.

Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mary (Smith) Douglas.

Gail grew up in Norristown. She was a graduate of A.D. Eisenhauer High School. Gail attended Haws Avenue United Methodist Church for many years. She enjoyed being with her family and grandchildren. She was a kind, loving person with a huge heart. Gail would often enjoy playing games, working on puzzles, reading the newspaper, and watching game shows. She traveled often in her younger years. Also in her younger years, she liked going bowling and playing tennis. Gail loved flowers and being outside enjoying the sun. She was known as a fantastic cook and baker. She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.

Surviving along with her husband Walter “Sam”, are her daughters Brooke Slick Speidel, wife of Jeffrey; and Ashley Slick Arora, wife of Gaurav; siblings Beverly Carr, wife of the late William; Arthur Douglas, husband of Mary; Glenn Douglas, husband of Ann Marie; Donald Douglas, husband of Nancy; Jeffrey Douglas, significant other of Antoinette Puia; Dale Douglas, husband of Sharon; and Denise Rosetti, wife of Anthony; grandchildren Mason Speidel, Finley Speidel, Bryce Arora, Blake Arora, and Brielle Arora; and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Durrell Douglas.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, at 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (595 W. Main St., Trappe, PA 19426) with Pastor Daniel Herner officiating. Burial will follow at Valley Forge Memorial Gardens. A viewing will also be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 10:00-11:00AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Frederick Living Benevolent Fund (2849 Big Rd, Zieglerville, PA 19492) or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (https://alzfdn.org/) in Gail’s name.
