John Raymond (Ray) Centrella entered the arms of his savior on May 12, 2024 at his home.
He is survived by his wife Martha Jane Centrella, his children; Linda Sokolovich (Leonard), Patricia Derrick (Donald), Carol Hamm (Mitchell) and Nancy Stimson (Thomas); 9 Grandchildren, Jennifer Hartman, Amanda Regetta (Mark), Melissa Glatz, Michael Hamm (Karen Strychowski), Heather Hamm (Nicholas Zatz O’Connell), Caleb Hamm, Kylee Weidner (Kyle), Dillon Stimson, Morgan Stimson and 10 Great grandchildren, Madison Owens, Siah Owens, Harper Owens, Jackson Regetta, Danielle Regetta, Chase Regetta, Gideon Glatz, Nathaniel Hamm, Raegan Hamm, Roman Zatz-O’Connell.
He is predeceased by one granddaughter, Karen Owens and 3 Great Grandchildren, Gavin Owens, Jayden Owens, and Angela Owens.
Ray was born on August 18, 1935 to Helen and John Toner in Germantown Pa. and then adopted by his step father Nicholas Centrella. He is predeceased by his siblings Joan Constance Groff and William Groff
Ray attended Saint Joe’s prep HS where he played Basketball and Temple University.
He worked as a store manager at Sears and Roebuck until 1974 when he gave his life to the Lord and began his ministry. He was assistant pastor at Shephard of the Hills UCC, Boyertown, and then went on to pastor The Carpenters House until his retirement. Upon his retirement he also provided his pastoral services at New Hanover Methodist Church. His life was a reflection of his savior. His impact on others and love for Gods people was both in his community and oversees. He leaves behind a legacy of hope and salvation for his family and many others whom he has touched in some way.
A Celebration of life will be held on June 1, 2024, 11:00am at New Ridge Fellowship, located at 2211 Swamp Pike Gilbertsville Pa. Light refreshments will follow.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the missions ministry at New Ridge Fellowship.
