David Earl Shainline Sr., 77, husband of Trudy Elizabeth (Gerhold) Shainline, passed away peacefully at his home in Boyertown on Friday, June 7, 2024.
Born in Norristown, he was the son of the late Joseph B. Shainline II and Hazel A. (Himes) Shainline.
Dave honorably served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a combat veteran of Vietnam of which he received 2 Purple Hearts as a machine gunner in the Ashau Valley. Dave was a volunteer Firefighter for Liberty Fire Co. in New Berlinville. As an outdoor enthusiast, Dave spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, and camping. Dave loved playing cards with his family and enjoyed woodworking and refurnishing. He was the ultimate good Samaritan; always willing to drop everything to help someone else.
Surviving along with his wife Trudy of 50 years, is his son David Shainline Jr.; son Alan Shainline, husband of Kimberly; brother Joe Shainline III; sister Ann Dearnley, wife of Joe; sister Sara Seyler, wife of Timothy; grandchildren Connor, Collin, and Jake. He is predeceased by his brothers William E. Shainline Sr. and John Shainline.
Services will be held privately by the family at this time.
