Daisy M. (Sands) Pihanich, 85, wife of the late Joseph Pihanich Sr., passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, at Amity Place in Douglassville.
Born in Gilbertsville, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Stella (Richard) Sands.
Daisy owned and operated Daisy’s Market in Bally before running DJ’s Sandwich Shop in Birdsboro. She loved being a home maker. Daisy enjoyed cooking and baking for her family as well as for Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Pottstown. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crafts and working on diamond paintings with her family. Daisy loved getting pictures and updates about her grandchildren.
Surviving is her son Joseph Pihanich Jr., husband of Debra; son David Pihanich, husband of Joyce; grandchildren Michael Pihanich, husband of Emily; Seth Pihanich, husband of Kristina; Alex Pihanich, husband of Kaile; Abigail Pihanich and Charlotte Pihanich; great grandchildren Lilly Jean, Kayson, Jamie, Westley and Everly. She is predeceased by her siblings Ardi Sands, Blanche Miller, Pauline Fine, Frances Doaty, and Gloria Grisdale.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at 11:00AM at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church (1236 Juniper St, Pottstown, PA 19464) with Fr. John Edward officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Orthodox Church Cemetery. A viewing will also be held on the same day from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Orthodox Church in Daisy’s name.
