Henrietta Susan Millard Seiscio, 84

It is with such heavy hearts that we share the death of Henrietta Susan Millard Seiscio, our beloved mother. She died peacefully on July 26th, 2024; she was 84 years old.

Henrietta (Henette) was a Pottstown native. Daughter of Harold and Gladys Millard and sister of Jill Millard, she grew up frolicking around town with her many, many friends and going to one of her favorite places, the family bungalow in Birdsboro. She was a member of the Pottstown High School Marching band serving in the Color Guard. She was also a “member” of the SSS – the Shy Sorority Sisters (Ladies – you know who you are. Keep raising hell!). She also could be found working downtown at Kinney’s Shoe store, where her dad (Shoes) put her to work! After graduating from high school in 1958, she was a bank teller at PNB Bank for several years before getting married and having children.

Henrietta was a member of the Junior Service League of Pottstown, where she served for many years by refurbishing old toys and bicycles to give to families in need. She also helped to organize and participated in their annual June Fete. In addition to the JLP, Henrietta volunteered for Meals on Wheels, delivering food to people in need. Ever the prep-ster, Mom also worked for several years at the beautiful Cross Country Shop, where she was in her element surrounded by The Preppy Handbook, all thing Izod, and Fair Isle sweaters.

Most of all, mom was a homemaker. She excelled at this often overlooked and undervalued job. She loved decorating and made everything beautiful. She could take an antique watering can and turn it into something amazing by adding flowers and finding just the right spot to place it. She kept our home absolutely pristine, from thoroughly washing windows every spring to washing Ball jars with white vinegar (keeps them sparkling – who knew?) She loved day lilies and zinnias and impatiens, and these could be seen all around the Seiscio homestead. Mom loved to Jitterbug, to listen to Rod Stewart, and all things plaid. The plaid -er, the better. She loved beautiful clothing and had an absolutely beautiful smile that is already missed.

Henrietta is survived by her two children, Andrew Robert and Merri Jill, and her two gorgeous grandchildren, Kathryn and Erik, and the countless friends that were lucky enough to know her.

Family and friends are invited to say good – bye to Henrietta on Saturday August 3, 2024 at the Christ Episcopal Church located at 316 E. High Street, Pottstown. Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 with a Celebration of Life immediately thereafter. Interment will be at Birdsboro Cemetery, 1018 E. Main Street, Birdsboro. A luncheon will be provided at SunnyBrook Ballroom immediately after interment.

In lieu of flowers, please, if you have time, please send donations to the Parkinson’s Foundation https://www.parkinson.org and hit the gold box labeled “Donate Now.”

Love to all ~ Drew and Jill

Add My Condolences

On behalf of the Activities Department, please accept our sympathies. Although it was difficult to get Henrietta to activities, despite Drew's & my attempts, each of us in the Activity Department treasure our individual visit time with Henrietta. I will take with me Henrietta's non-complaining attitude. I am not saying I will be successful in this endeavor but perhaps she will remind me from above. :)
