Sandra K. (Forlini) Shirlaw, 90, wife of the late John N. Shirlaw, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at Sanatoga Court in Pottstown.
Born in Norristown, she was the daughter of the late Silvio and Ursula (Ambirg) Forlini.
Sandra was an avid reader, fueled by a passion for history, and always supported the local library. Many afternoons would find her outside marveling at the colorful birds visiting her feeders or inside knitting hundreds of hats for donation to those in need. Anyone who found themselves opposite her in Scrabble would inevitably fall victim to her ruthlessly competitive gameplay. Having so many points to add-up naturally made Sandra a mental-math whiz. Above all else, Sandra loved time with her children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to gather them around her table.
Surviving are her daughters Nancy Johnson, wife of William; Janet Tuckett, wife of Michael; sister Rose Ann Forlini; grandchildren Heather Torris, wife of Nathan; Jill Mason, wife of James; Michael Zinno, husband of Samantha; and Joseph Zinno; and great granddaughter Lacey Torris. She is predeceased by her sisters Emma Amato, Loretta Toledo, Sylvia Alfonse, Teresa Martin, and Anna Marie Radatti.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2024, at 10:30AM at Whitemarsh Memorial Park (1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA 19002).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local library in Sandra’s name.
