He became an accomplished construction superintendent, specializing in rebuilding and refurbishing movie theaters and corporate buildings nationwide. He loved animals, especially his Springer Spaniels and rescued cat “Baby Girl”. Ren was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. He could always be found reading books, mostly mystery novels. He was a talented guitar soloist who had always enjoyed music and Western Movies.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, PA 19525). Sharing of remembrances will follow the visitation at 11:00AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ren’s name to Coventry Animal Hospital. This exceptional facility is where his Springers, Lexi and Maggie, receive their care.

Add My Condolences

Ren was my brother. He was a very loving and unselfish person . He loved his wife and proud of his two sons and his Grandchildren. Even through his own suffering and dark days he always took the time to call me and help me through my own illness and death of my son. He would brighten my days. Rest in peace brother. I know you are with your pups and our Mother. Now Stephen has you to keep him on track until we get there. Your a true Angel. So sadly missed, Love you, Annette.

Ren, you have been a good friend for more than 55 years. You tolerated my lousy harmonica playing when I was learning and you were already a skilled guitarist on that goldtop 59 Les Paul and who had already played in bands. I remember when you lived for awhile above the Weldon House and could get us beer even though we were underage; and living in Souderton with Gary, George and Hank, and us jamming in the upstairs attic until the policeman came up and said he liked the music but it was getting late; jamming until late at night after the monsoon year of the Phila. Folk Festival, jamming up at the farm in Boyerstown, and long telephone calls through the years when you were working away from home. Glad we could talk back on July 6 even though we knew you were not feeling well. We are sad but know you are now at peace, no more pain, no more suffering, and playing music again. Rest in Peace old friend. We send our sincere sympathy to your family Charlotte (Tootie), and sons Jeff and Ryan.

I am very sorry to hear of Ren’s passing. He was my first cousin and in our youth, I would spend part of my summer vacation with Ren, his sisters and parents. A lot of great memories. I’m very sorry to learn of his passing.
