Steven Paul Kurtas, 92, of East Coventry, husband of the late Mary Louise (Rizzo) Kurtas, passed away Monday September 2, 2024 at his residence.
Born at home in East Coventry, he was the son of the late Frank and Johanna (Verva) Kurtas. One of 15 children born to the couple.
Steven was a graduate of Spring City High School where he was a member of the football team and the radio club. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War being stationed in Germany with the occupation forces. He owned and operated his own TV and Radio repair business as well as working for the Twin County Construction Company for many years and was a retiree from the B.F. Goodrich Tire and Rubber Company.
Steven was a loving Husband, Father and Grandfather and will be dearly missed.
Surviving is his daughters MaryLouise Kurtas partner of Robert Castelli, Susan Spotts wife of James, Karen Kurtas wife of David Harmanos; son Steven F. Kurtas husband of Sandra; grandchildren Brittany, Ethan, Olivia, Mary, Haley, Dan, Hannah, Emory, and Robert; sister-in-law’s Alice Kurtas, Vivian Rizzo; brother-in-law Anthony Rizzo; and many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday September 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta, 256 Swamp Pike, Schwenksville, PA 19473. Burial will follow at St. Aloysius New Cemetery, Pottstown. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00-10:45 AM at the church.
