John Frederick Kelius, 84

John Frederick Kelius, age 84, of Pottstown, PA, went to be with his Lord and savior on September 7, 2024. Born on August 12, 1940, in Limerick, PA to the late Milton and Mary (Ortlip) Kelius. He married Dawn (Moyer) Kelius in 1965 and they shared 58 years of marriage before his passing.

He graduated from Spring Ford High School where he played football. John proudly served in the Army, stationed in Germany. After his military service, he returned to Limerick and began his business in excavating and plumbing while also working at Doehler Jarvis for many years.

John was a devout attendee of Valley Forge Baptist for many years. Previously, he attended Limerick Chapel. He was very involved in his church and loved to share the gospel with anyone that would listen.

As an avid outdoorsman, John enjoyed hunting & fishing. His RV travels took him to Alaska as well as on many other adventures. He also enjoyed gardening and working outdoors.

John is survived by his wife, Dawn Kelius; son, Troy Kelius, husband of Patty (Holsopple) Kelius; and daughter, Shannon (Kelius) Weidner; step-son, Paul Tobias; step-daughter, Sharri (Tobias) Sellens; his brother, Ray Kelius and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tonya (Kelius) Butler; his mother Mary & father Milton, brothers Donald, Cylde, Charles & David Kelius; and sisters Ruth (Laubmeier), Evelyn (Roberts), Rosalie (Wilson) & Anne (Long). John's life and legacy will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at 11:00AM at Valley Forge Baptist Church (616 S. Trappe Rd., Collegeville, PA 19426) with Pastor Scott Wendal officiating. Burial will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories. A viewing will also be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the church.

I will always remember John as someone who knew his God (even as a teen) and lived his life accordingly. He was a good man.
