Melvin C. Whitfield, 88, husband of Connie A. (Horton) Whitfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Amity Place.
Born in Hopewell, he was the son of the late Cloyd Melvin Whitfield and Dorothy (Koontz) Whitfield.
Melvin liked hunting, fishing, camping, boating and giving the family dogs treats. He enjoyed the outdoors, candy and ice cream. Melvin was a Cub Scout Master at Spring Mount Pack 142. Above all else, family was most important to him.
Surviving along with his wife Connie, of 68 years, is his son Randolph Whitfield, companion of Deborah Gunter; son Brian Whitfield, husband of Cheryl Sullivan; sister Phyllis Feight, wife of Donald; grandchildren Michelle, Christopher, Bradley, Sierra, and Cody; great grandchildren Vanessa, Kirsten, Cheyenne, Zander, Eliza, Lorelai, Cassandra, Madison, James, and Brecken; great great grandchildren Dillon and Sawyer. He is predeceased by his brother Ricky E. Whitfield and his daughter-in-law Barbara (Klink) Whitfield.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 1:00PM at Limerick Garden of Memories Chapel (44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA 19468) with Pastor Marvin Miller officiating. Burial will follow. A viewing will also be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024, from 11:30AM-1:00PM at the chapel.
