Mason Gabriel Kinsey, 21

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mason Gabriel Kinsey, age 21, on September 3, 2024. Born on September 9, 2002, Mason filled the lives of everyone around him with his music, laughter, and boundless love for family and friends.

Mason was a recent graduate of Kutztown University, where he earned a degree in commercial music. His passion for singing and playing guitar was the center of his life. Music was not just something Mason did; it was how he expressed his heart and soul and connected with others. His talent brought joy to all those around him. Whether playing a local gig, or performing for family and friends, Mason's music was an extension of his heart—a heart full of love and laughter.

Mason was also an avid sports fan, especially where the Philadelphia 76’ers were concerned. From a lifetime of playing PVYB, to the neighborhood courts, to online video games, his fun, competitive spirit was unmatched. His love for basketball was infectious, and he cherished every moment spent on the court with his brother and friends.

Above all, Mason loved his family deeply. He was a devoted son, brother, and friend who treasured every opportunity to be with the people he cared about most. Whether sharing stories around the dinner table, playing a quick pickup game, or simply enjoying a quiet moment with Hondo, Mason's presence made every moment brighter.

Mason is survived by his loving parents, Ryan and Brandi Kinsey and his younger brother, Maximus. He was cherished and greatly influenced by his grandparents, Patricia and Jeff Baun, Patricia and Stephen Tracanna and Anne and Eric Kinsey. His aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends will forever hold him in their hearts.

Though his time with us was far too brief, the light Mason brought into this world will remain with us always. We will love him forever. Rest in peace, Son.

A Celebration of Life luncheon honoring Mason will be held on September 27, 2024, at Normandy Farm, Grand Ballroom, 1401 Morris Rd., Blue Bell, PA. All are welcome to visit beginning at 10:30 am, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to The Mason G. Kinsey Endowed Scholarship Fund, which will provide scholarships in his name for Kutztown music students in need. www.kuf.org/masonkinsey. Please select Mason for the Designation.

Well, he's walking through the clouds
With a circus mind that's running wild
Butterflies and zebras and moonbeams
And fairy tales
That's all he ever thinks about
Riding with the wind
When I'm sad, he comes to me
With a thousand smiles, he gives to me free
"It's alright", he says, "It's alright"
Take anything you want from me, take anything
Anything
Fly on, little wing

You are in my prayers and I send my sincerest sympathy with hope that faith and family and friends help you on your grief journey. My regret is that I never got to know Mason. I was lucky enough to be Mason's 7th-grade social studies teacher. He was an amazing young man with an incredible gift of making those around him feel welcomed, included, and cared for. He wore a smile on his face every day and was well-respected for all the right reasons. I'll always remember our many conversations about shared music interests and what we should check out next. Our thoughts are with you all, and he will be missed.

We are very saddened to hear about the passing of our beloved "mintern." Mason was so much fun to work with at Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week and made our week brighter. We are glad to see that same spirit continued and grew as time went on. May beautiful music lead him to paradise.

I met Mason very briefly, but I will always remember his amazing voice and the light of his soul. Even tho I was almost a random person for him, the news of his death was very shocking and I pray for his soul but also for all the ones that I know or don’t that were very close to him. My heart breaks for everyone who were his family, because I believe that his friends were a part of a beautiful family he not only had by blood but his heart as well. Rest in peace.
