Ronald J. Diesinger, 79

Ronald J. Diesinger, 79, of Diesinger Drive in Schwenksville passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16 at home surrounded by his family.

Born in Norristown on June 28th, 1945, he was a son of Dorothy (Freas) Diesinger and Donald B. Diesinger.

After attending Plymouth Whitemarsh High School Ron enlisted in the Army for four years. It gave him the opportunity to see the world. He was stationed in Korea and Germany. While in Germany he toured Europe on his Triumph motorcycle taking in the sights and getting into a little trouble. As he was known to do. He achieved the rank of Specialist E5 and oversaw the Motor Pool. Ron was also an excellent shot and was awarded a sharp shooting medal.

After the service he worked for the Philadelphia Electric Company as a lineman and later in his career was on a special assignment with Bechtel Power during the construction of the Limerick Nuclear Power Plant. After many years of employment, he went out on his own. Maintaining rental properties that he owned, doing carpentry, roofing as they would say a jack of all trades. Eventually becoming a builder and general contractor. He sub-divided ground in Limerick creating a housing development where the road bears his last name. Lastly his dream was to own a bar-restaurant, Ron’s Crooked Hill Tavern which is a local favorite.

In June 1975 he married the love of his life Joy Anne Ounsworth and had two children. Ron had a very full life with numerous accomplishments, many adventures and family and friends that loved him and depended on him for advice. He will be extremely missed.

Ron is survived by one daughter, Rebecca, one son, Ronald Jr., two brothers Russell J., husband of Jerri Diesinger of Exeter and Daniel husband of Geri Diesinger of New Jersey: one sister Dorothy wife of Richard Pecharo of Royersford: and one grandchild, Addie Joy.

Preceding him in death are three brothers, Robert, Raymond and Richard Diesinger. His wife Joy Anne and both of his parents Dorothy and Donald.

A celebration of Ron’s life will be held Saturday September 21, 2024 from 1:00-6:00 PM at Ron’s Crooked Hill Tavern, 1271 N. Sanatoga Rd., Pottstown, PA 19464.
