James “Heydtie” Heydt, 61

James “Heydtie” Richard Heydt, 61, husband of Christene L. (Miller) Heydt, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at his home in Boyertown.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Carl and Shirley (Minninger) Heydt.

James loved camping, fishing, and being with friends. He adored his dog, Minnie. James truly enjoyed having a good cigar and a craft beer with his friends and family. He was known to be very detail oriented and meticulous with his possessions in every aspect of his life. Everything had to be his way and his friends knew that.

Surviving along with his wife, Christene of 27 years, is his sister Catherine Fronheiser, wife of Ronald; sister Doreen Heimbach, wife of the late Bruce; 2 nieces and 2 nephews. He is predeceased by his stepson Jason Benyo and his father-in-law Russell L. Miller.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, PA 19525). Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. A viewing will also be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 9:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (https://donate.cancer.org/) in James’ name.
