Frank S. Straub, 77

Frank Stuart Straub, 77, husband of Peggy Lee (Hamor) Straub, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at his home in Gilbertsville.

Born in Danville, he was the son of the late Frank Stuart Straub Sr. and Thurley (Belford) Straub.

Frank loved his family above all else. He was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Frank was an avid Philadelphia Sports fan, especially for the Phillies, Eagles, and Sixers. He was a decades long Phillies season ticket holder. Frank loved playing golf and nature photography. He was a former science teacher and that sparked his interest in weather and astronomy. Frank was also an avid world traveler with his wife, Peggy. He was a longtime member of Faulkner Swamp UCC in Gilbertsville. He worked many years in the pharmaceutical industry, retiring from Pfizer in 2011. In addition to their lifelong friends in PA, Frank and his family made many close friends in South Carolina over the last 33 years. Frank loved his winters at their Conway house, where snowblowers are only a myth.

Surviving along with his wife, Peggy, of 54 years, is his daughter Jennifer L. Nymark, wife of Michael; son Michael S. Straub, husband of Jennifer L. Straub; brother Earl H. Straub, husband of Joan; Grandchildren Maryn Nymark, Noah Nymark, Ivy Straub, and Cormac Straub; godson Tommy Kopetskie; and nephews Wesley Dietterick and Jonathan Straub.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, at 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC (1020 E. Philadelphia Ave., Gilbertsville, PA 19525) with Rev. Frances Chester officiating. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date. A visitation will also be held on Monday, November 25, 2024, from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation (https://www.pulmonaryfibrosis.org/) or to the American Heart Association (https://www.heart.org/) in Frank’s name.

Add My Condolences

Peggy: I am truly sorry to learn of Frank's passing. I always loved Frank and his sense of humor. He was God's example of a true gentleman. A outstanding husband and father. I suspect he is up in heaven chewing the fat with you father.
All my Love
Lee

The world is much poorer as a result of the passing of my friend of 50 years Frank Straub. He was as fine a man as I have ever known. Above all else Frank loved his devoted wife Peggy and his children. In the end when his body was failing him he showed no bitterness but fought with every fiber of his body.
What Frank meant to me can never be replaced by any other friend.
I know that there must be a place in heaven for such a fine human being.
