John A. Hogan, 82

John A. Hogan, 82, husband of Florence A. (Monaghan) Hogan, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at his home in Gilbertsville. He had been in ill health for the past eight months.

Born in Ashland, PA, he was the son of the late John and Anne (McBrearty) Hogan.

John was a graduate of Immaculate Heart High School, class of 1960. He then proudly served in the United States Navy. He spent almost his entire career in car sales. John discovered his love for travel later in life and enjoyed visiting many interesting locations in the US and Europe. With his infectious smile, he was known as a great listener and had a gift for remembering the smallest details about his family and many friends. This gave him a talent for telling amusing stories. The greatest gift he left behind was his love for his devoted wife, children and grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.

Surviving along with his wife, Florence of 53 years, is his daughter Meg Kelly, wife of Drew, Sycamore, IL; son John J. Hogan, husband of Lauren, Doylestown, PA; grandchildren Sean Kelly, Kelsey Hogan, Jack Hogan, and Madelyn Hogan. He is predeceased by his sister Ann Snyder and his brother Joseph Hogan.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, from 10:00AM-11:00AM at St. Teresa of Calcutta Roman Catholic Church of which he was a member. A memorial mass will immediately follow at 11:00 AM with Fr. Paul Brandt officiating. A private burial will be held with his immediate family at a later date.

There is nothing more difficult for a family than the loss of a loved one and my heart goes out to the Hogan family. John had a positive impact to everyone he touched and his laughter will echo through the heavens for eternity.
