MSG Roger Calverly Billings, 67

MSG Roger Calverly Billings, age 67, U.S. Army (Ret), peacefully departed this life Saturday, December 7th, 2024 in the arms of his devoted wife Holly Jones Billings.

Roger was a proud native of Sherborn, Massachusetts and resident of Happydale Cottage, Pottstown, Pennsylvania.

MSG Billings served in the U.S. Army from 1975-2015 as an infantryman, medic, and was instrumental in the training of medics, finally serving as an AMEDD Senior Instructor at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, TX and Ft. Dix, NJ., and was awarded numerous meritorious service awards and medals, to include the Bronze Star, Combat Medic Badge and Combat Action Badge.

He was a proud Father to Michael Billings of Blackstone MA, Andrew Billings (Katie) of Bluffton SC and Courtney Billings of Winterhaven, FL. , Stepfather to Nora Nobles (TJ) of Saint Cloud, FL, Richard Bentley, Jr. Of Fairhope AL, Michael Schulte of Pottstown PA, Anne Schulte of Pensacola FL and Hannah Schulte Martinez (Ryan) of San Antonio TX., and ten grandchildren.
Roger’s siblings are Anne Dow (Bob) ME, Mark B. Billings, Sr. (Martha) NH, Heidi Thurston (Mike) NH, and June Parent (Steve) ME, and sister in law Sharon Carter of Mobile, AL., along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Peter Fish Billings and Rita Tyler Billings.

A celebration of life is being planned for the spring.

I was lucky enough to have served with Doc in Afghanistan. He was a great soldier and even a better human being! My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family! May God bless you all!

My sincerest condolences to Holly and the entire family I liked Roger a fair bit as a very likable person and fellow Sherborn-ite... He will be missed by all who knew him.....

Doc - I am sure you have set up a comfy lawn chair near those gates. Please continue to watch over us all and put in a good word for your Navajo teammates. You will never be forgotten.

I will miss you brother in law. I watched you make my sister the happiest woman. I'm glad I got to spend time with you before you went to be with the Lord. You leave so many people that love you. I see you again in heaven. You will be missed .
