James T. Walker, 80

James Thomas Walker, Sr., 80, husband of the late Marie E. (Wade) Walker, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Pottstown Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James Edward Walker and Anna (Gorman) Walker.

Dad loved his family with all of his heart. He was giving and generous to everyone he knew. He was one of the biggest personalities you would ever meet. Always quick with a joke and endless stories to make people laugh. Besides taking care of his family and friends, he loved collecting coins and antiques. Much of his life was spent traveling the world, always ready for a new adventure.

Surviving is his son James Walker Jr., husband of Kelly; daughter Kristen Walker; sister Marcia Mengle; sister-in-law Margaret Walker, wife of the late Frank Walker; grandchildren Ryan Walker, Maggie Walker, and Braeden Walker.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 12:00Noon at St. Eleanor Catholic Church (647 Locust St, Collegeville, PA 19426) with Fr. Bordenaro officiating. Burial will follow at Limerick Garden of Memories. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 6:00PM-8:00PM at Catagnus Funeral Home (329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford, PA 19468). A viewing will also be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from 11:00AM-12:00PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Society (https://action.lung.org/) or to the National Kidney Foundation (https://support.kidney.org/) in James’ name.

Jim Walker was a kind and friendly presence in our neighborhood, always ready with a smile or a wave that could brighten anyone’s day. Though I didn’t know him well, his warmth and outgoing nature left a lasting impression. He had a way of making people feel welcome and valued, and his positive spirit will be deeply missed. Our deepest condolences on the loss of Uncle Jimmy. He was a kind and generous soul, and we know he touched the lives of many with his warmth and compassion. Mike loved him so much. Although we can not be at the funeral for our beloved friend and cousin we will always remember Jim with the strongest love and thankfulness of having a great friend. Always remember we will be there in sprit. May God’s grace shine on Jim and all of his beautiful family.
