Michael Tuckett, 70

Michael Tuckett, 70, of Royersford and Eastport, Maine passed away on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at his home in Royersford.

A visitation and memorial service will be held at Catagnus Funeral Home in Royersford on Saturday, January 25. Visitation will be from 11am-12:30pm, and a service will be held from 12:30-1pm. All are welcome to attend.

In 2018, “Mr. Tuckett” donated to the marine resources education program at Shead High School in Eastport, where he taught throughout the 1990s. The funds provided a whale-watching trip and new equipment to the students. It was his intention then to continue making this possible in the hopes that students would have the opportunity to get out on the water and foster a love of local biology. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a monetary donation to the school for this purpose in Michael’s name. School address: 89 High Street, Eastport, ME 04631.

Born in Philadelphia, Michael was the son of the late Robert Tuckett and Pauline (Mattis) Tuckett. He is survived by his wife Janet Tuckett; step-sons Michael Zinno husband of Samantha and Joseph Zinno; brother Robert (Bob) Tuckett; sister Mary Costa, wife of Tom; nephews Jason Tuckett (wife Katie, father of Corbin and Reginald), Drew Tuckett, Andrew Dixon (wife Katie), Erik Dixon, and Kyle Dixon (wife Abbey); and nieces Lena Woods (husband Ben, mother of Ava, Lily, and Clara), Katherine McGuire (husband Patrick, mother of Miles and Rose), and Hayley Tuckett. Predeceasing him are siblings Agnes Dixon, wife of Rick, and James (Jimmy) Tuckett. "The family is collaborating on a thorough obituary celebrating Michael’s life, which they will share in the near future."

Add My Condolences

Mike was a mentor at Shead when I taught there in the early 1990s. We spent many evenings in his kitchen and I will always cherish his generosity, humor, and wit. He was truly one of the good guys!

Mr. Tuckett was one of the kindest, most sincere teachers I have ever experienced. His manor always steady and calm. When I think about him I think of the word intentional. He seemed to live life with a certain rhythm that kept those around him calm. Sincere condolences to his loved ones.

I first met Mr. Tuckett as his student in the early 90’s. We later performed together in several community theater productions and I worked for him on a salmon farm for a few summers. He was an amazing role model. If life is to be measured but the positive impact you have on people you meet, Mr. Tuckett’s was profound. He will be missed and remembered by many.
