Jacqueline Y. Allen, 72, passed away peacefully at her home in Pottstown, PA on Thursday, January 30th, 2025.
Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Brinton Gibbs, Sr., and the late Gladys J. Trice.
Jackie, as she was affectionately called, was a fiercely devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Anyone who has ever been in her presence felt every bit of her passion for the people and things she held close to her heart. Most importantly, she was a dedicated servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and she did so with fervor and passion.
Although she leaves behind a host of family and friends who grieve her loss, we all know and understand that to be absent from the body is to be present with our Lord. (2 Corinthians 5:8). We rejoice in that knowledge and know that we will be reunited one day.
Surviving is her daughter, Ingrid Olvera, wife of Carlos Olvera; son Joseph Allen; daughter, Shemeen Reid, wife of Ronald Reid; sister Michelle Branford of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brother Brinton Gibbs, Jr. of Poconos, PA; and 13 grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her son Adam P. Gibbs, brother Blaine Gibbs, sister Leslie Gibbs-Henderson, and brother Tracy Gibbs.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 7th, 2025, at 10:00 am at Limerick Garden of Memories (44 Swamp Pike, Limerick, PA 19468) with Pastor Roland H. Anderson officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Second Baptist Church in Pottstown (507 N. Adams St., Pottstown, PA 19464) in Jackie’s name.
