Robert G. McKinley, 65

Robert G. McKinley, 65, husband of Diane (Jacobs) McKinley, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 3, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born in Germantown, PA, he was the son of the late Edward G. and Patricia (Aulds) McKinley.

Robert took a lot of pride in being a material transportation specialist, as a professional truck driver. But his biggest pride was being a member of the Royal British Legion and the Loyal Orange Lodge, along with being part of the Philadelphia Ulster Scottish Pipe Band as a snare drummer. His other hobbies included being a history buff and a car enthusiast throughout his life.

Surviving in addition to his wife Diane are his children Matthew McKinley, husband of Mindy; Samantha Shantz, wife of Tyler; Chase McKinley; Heather, Matthew, and Michael Quinn; grandchildren Phoenix and Peyton Shantz, Owen McPherson, and Brianna McKinley. He was predeceased by his beloved dog, Piper.

A Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC, 1020 East Philadelphia Avenue, Gilbertsville, PA 19525.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140, or to any local animal rescue of your choice, in Robert’s name.

Add My Condolences

You were my bestfriend. The best dad a girl could ask for, and the best Poppop to Phoenix and Peyton. I’ll miss you forever and a day. I love you so much, Dad.

I was deeply saddened to learn today of your dad’s passing. That distinctive laugh and cute twinkle of devilishness in his eye will sorely be missed. He joins our many family members who’ve gone before to pave the way for him. I feel confident they’ll be telling stories of our antics around the fire of their local pub with all our friends gone too soon as well. May the pain fade as the good memories grow.
