David L. Ritter, 82

David “Dave” L. Ritter, 82, husband of Eleanor Agnes (Grill) Ritter, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at his home in Bally.

Born in West Reading on March 11th, 1942, he was the son of the late Lester and Blanche (Clemmer) Ritter.

Dave was a Boyertown High School Graduate, class of 1960. He then proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked at Firestone until they closed in 1980 and retired from Bally Block as a Custom Shop Woodworker.

He was a member of the Bally Sportsman’s Gun Club and the Boyertown Rod & Gun Club and was a proud member of the National Rifle Association. In his younger years he was a volunteer fireman at Good Will Fire Co. Dave was also a long-time member of Most Blessed Sacrament Church.

Dave’s true passion was the outdoors; hunting, fishing, trapping, and shooting sports. You could find him in his woodshop working on various projects for family and friends. He loved his Toyota Tacoma Truck. Dave loved and adored his granddaughter Kelli and cherished spending time with his family. Dave was always willing to help people and had a tremendous work ethic.

Surviving along with his wife of 60 years, Eleanor; his son Bruce Ritter, husband of Beth; and his granddaughter Kelli (Ritter), wife of Kyle Moyer; and Dave’s one sister.

A funeral mass will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 11:00AM at Most Blessed Sacrament (610 Pine St, Bally, PA 19503). Burial will follow at Most Blessed Sacrament Church Cemetery. A viewing will also be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 9:00-10:45AM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boyertown Rod and Gun Club’s Special Needs Kids Trout Rodeo. (C/O Boyertown Rod & Gun Association Inc. PO Box 76, Boyertown, PA 19512) in David’s name.

Dave will forever be my sunshine!
The face he would make when I sang to him was priceless, deep down he really liked it.
I will miss my quick visits when driving by which would usually end with him walking away shaking his head.
Rest in peace.
