Dorothy Budka (Fraschetta), 82

Dorothy Budka (Fraschetta), 82, beloved wife of Richard E. Budka, Sr., a passionate sports enthusiast, devoted family member and lifelong friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Norristown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Dorothy (Gillespie) Fraschetta.

Dorothy’s love for sports spanned a lifetime, from her early days on the field hockey fields to her later years enjoying skiing, tennis, and golf. In addition to her active lifestyle, she was an avid reader, talented cook and baker. She spent many years cross-stitching, and a few of her intricate works are now cherished pieces that hang in her home as lasting reminders of her creativity and patience. Dorothy’s life was defined by the friendships she held dear. She treasured the company of her childhood friends and new ones she met through her travels and adventures. Dorothy adored her family, particularly her grandchildren. She was proud to watch them pursue their passions and achieve their dreams.

Dorothy’s memory will live on in the hearts of those that knew her – her warmth, generosity and love for family and friends. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; her children, Richard E. Budka, Jr. (Kristie), Jennifer Zaitz (Fred), and Debra Hicks (Jeffrey); and her adored grandchildren, Brynn, Ryan, and Maddie Budka; Matthew, Zak, and Ben Zaitz; and Abby and Katie Hicks. She is also survived by her brother, Tommy Fraschetta (Patty), and her sister, Judy Fraschetta. She was predeceased by her brother, Dennis Fraschetta.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8, at 12:00 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 North Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468. A visitation will take place at the funeral home from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy’s name to the American Heart Association. More information can be found at https://www.heart.org.
