Robert “Bob” Stengel, 75

Robert “Bob” J. Stengel, husband of Audry (Leister) Stengel, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Paoli Hospital.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Robert J. Stengel Sr. and Mary (Seaman) Stengel.

Robert worked at Dana Corporation for 51 years in the skilled trade department as a tool grinder. He held the position of Union Steward for many years. Robert was very mechanically inclined and loved cars. He started out as a mechanic prior to his career at Dana after graduating from Spring Garden Institute in Philadelphia. Outside of work, Bob enjoyed deep sea fishing and drag racing. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and a loving supporter of his grandchildren’s athletics.

Surviving along with his wife, Audry, of 16 years, is his son Brett Stengel, husband of Kathleen; daughter Lora Della Vecchia, wife of Nicholas; sister Sally Geisinger, wife of Gene; sister Mary Wenrich, wife of Eric; grandchildren Gavin Stengel, Jude Stengel, Nicholas “Nicky” Della Vecchia, and Luca Della Vecchia; nieces and nephews Adam, Mara, Robert, and David; and his first wife, Mary Stengel.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464) with Rev. Barry Moyer officiating. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date. A visitation will also be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 9:30AM-11:00AM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion’s UCC, 209 Chestnut St., Pottstown, in Robert’s name.

Dear Audry, I am so sorry for your loss. I knew Bob for many years and he was always so kind to me. I wish he had more time to enjoy his retirement but we know not what is in store for us. Audry, I am so sorry to hear about Bob’s passing. I am having my husband’s Memorial Service tomorrow. I will certainly have you in my thoughts. We both lost our dads young, and later in life our mothers. But losing your spouse is just, well, no words. Praying for strength and comfort. Love you!????
