Every good thing in your life, looking back on it, feels like a miracle. Anyone that spent time with Marita D. Morris always walked away with the feeling that they had just met someone very special.
Marita was born in Norristown, PA on July 7, 1957, to the late Raymond E. Morris and Elizabeth (Derfler) Morris. She is survived by her sister whom she loved with all her heart Molly Morris, and brother Ray Morris (Pat). Marita graduated from Bishop Kenrick High School in 1975, where she participated in the marching band.
Among other jobs, Marita worked locally in Norristown as a Bartender until she moved to Pottstown in 1984 where she continued part-time bartending at the Pottstown American Legion, Empire H&L, and the Moose Lodge. Marita also worked at Reticon while living in Pottstown and was a loyal member to many local clubs until she moved in 2009 to Highland Mannor Apartments, in Schwenksville, PA. Here Marita was fortunate to live with wonderful friends like Tim Carter, Frannie Melle, and Sue Taylor. They all enjoyed each other’s company, cooked for each other, ate dinner together, and went shopping together. Theirs was a true community of friendship and Marita always enjoyed their company. Her absence will be truly missed.
Marita loved, loved, loved her Nieces and Nephews, Dennis Clark, Katy Clark-Potpinko, Mickey Morris, and Molly Morris. She never missed an event or turned down an opportunity to cheer them on when she could!
Her most cherished moments in life were when her Great Niece and Nephews Grace, Jack, and Charlie Potpinko were born. Marita would do anything for them and enjoyed many years of being their “Cool Aunt” and part-time caretaker. She will be sorely missed at their future life events.
It is hard to say good-bye to someone that has been a part of so many moments in life. The Family will Celebrate Marita’s life at the 2025 North Wildwood Irish Festival. Marita loved everything Irish, and this was her favorite annual event for 30 years. If you would like to join in the day of celebration as we do one final bar crawl in Marita’s memory on Saturday September 20th, contact Katy at kpotpinko@comcast.net or Molly at nannymolly@outlook.com.
