Kirti Mangalbhai Patel, 74

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kirti Mangalbhai Patel, who left us peacefully at the age of 74 on Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, surrounded by his loving family.

Kirti was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and grandfather. He was born on May 10, 1951, in Navagam, India, as the eldest son of the late Mangalbhai Ravjibhai and Shardaben Mangalbhai. Raised in Ahmedabad, India, he later built a life in the United States with his wife and children.

Kirti shared a deep bond with his loving wife, Pravina, whom he cherished for 52 years. He was a devoted father to his children: Krupali (Naylesh Shah), Dipti (Jigar Shah), and Prashant (Karuna). His grandchildren—Saagar, Dhruv, Simryn, Parth, Emma, Eyan, and Esha—brought him endless joy. He is survived by his brothers, Yogesh (late Bella) and Janak (Bina), and was predeceased by his brother, Nikhil. Kirti also adored his pets, Bailey, Mason, Simba, and Sammy, and they became an important part of his life.

A strong believer in education and hard work, Kirti earned his high school diploma from HB Kapadia School in Ahmedabad, India in 1967, and his Bachelor of Commerce degree from C.U. Shah Commerce College in 1971. After his studies, Kirti worked as an accountant for Indian Oil Corporation before moving to the United States with Pravina in April 1978. They settled in West Hartford, Connecticut, where they raised their family.

Professionally, Kirti was a senior accountant at several large insurance companies. He tangentially started his entrepreneurship in the hospitality industry in 1984 and successfully accomplished other lodging ventures. In 2019, he relocated to Collegeville, Pennsylvania, where he spent the last years of his life dedicated to his family.

Known for his kindness, warmth, generous spirit, and strong faith, Kirti always put others first. His selflessness, wisdom, and vibrant personality touched the hearts of everyone who knew him. Whether offering advice, lending a helping hand, or simply sharing a laugh, Kirti had a way of connecting with people of all ages, often relating to others like a friend rather than a senior. His quiet strength, humility, and unwavering support for his family and friends will forever be remembered.

Kirti lived his life with grace, integrity, and an infectious sense of humor. His legacy of love, joy, and compassion will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 5th, at Catagnus Funeral Home, 329 North Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Philabundance (a nonprofit food bank) in his honor. If unable to attend in person, his service will be live-streamed via link - Celebration of Life - Kirti M. Patel
