Nora (Rapant) LeGendre, 66

Nora (Rapant) LeGendre, 66, of Spring Mount, PA, passed away peacefully at her home on June 27, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family.

Nora was the devoted wife of Gerald LeGendre Jr., with whom she shared 44 years of marriage. She was a cherished mother to Leanne LeGendre (Jarrod Showers) and Margaret LeGendre (Luke Tonia), and a proud grandmother to Alexis Showers, Aren Fritz, Emily Showers, Evan Showers, and Georgi Tonia. Nora is also survived by 12 brothers- and sisters-in-law, as well as 29 nieces and nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Margaret Rapant; her sister, Anna Thomas; her nephew, Anthony Thomas; and her parents-in-law, Gerald and Ann Marie Therese LeGendre.

Born and raised in Graterford, Pennsylvania, Nora graduated from Perkiomen Valley High School in 1977. She went on to attend a two-year business school and held various professional roles throughout her life, including positions at Continental Bank and Grace Lutheran Church, in addition to running her own business while raising her daughters. Rather than retire, Nora embraced the opportunity to be closely involved in her grandchildren’s early years—offering care, love, and support that meant the world to her daughter, Leanne, and son-in-law, Jarrod.

Nora found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cooking, discovering new foods, antiquing, reading, gardening, bird watching, and delving into history. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her family, who she cherished more than anything in the world.

Known for her kindness, warmth, and quiet strength, Nora was a deeply caring and selfless person who always put others before herself. She will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her creativity, sense of humor, and her genuinely compassionate spirit.

In the fall of 2024, Nora was diagnosed with glioblastoma. Over the following nine months, she faced numerous challenges—including surgeries, hospitalizations, transfusions, chemotherapy, and radiation—with extraordinary courage and grace. Despite the toll on her body and mind, she never once complained. Nora’s bravery, strength, determination, and persistence will remain an inspiration to her family.

A mass in Nora’s honor will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church (519 Union Ave., Bridgeport, PA 19405), on Sunday, July 6, at 12:00 PM. Visitation with Nora's family will take place at 11:30 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center in memory of Nora LeGendre. https://giving.apps.upenn.edu/fund?fastStart=simpleForm&program=MC&fund=600499&appeal=PMWEB

Gerry, Leanne, Maggie, Jarrod, Luke, and kids,
Thinking of you all. Auntie Nora was such a light and loving part of all of our lives. I remember when I was like 10 years old and was obsessed with the pasta salad she made for a family party. She let me take home the whole plate! I always think of her when I eat pasta salad and will continue to think of her throughout all the love and light I see in you all. Thank you for sharing your wife/mom/grandmother with us!

That is a great photo of my favorite in-law. Is it from the 70s or the 80s? Either way, those days seems like yesterday, and she has passed away much too young.

Most sincere condolences to Gerry, Leanne, and Maggie.
