Janet R. Dunlap, 81

Janet R. Dunlap (81), beloved wife of Harold Dunlap, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at Sinking Spring Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Septimus and Elizabeth (Leaverton) Wood; and her brother, Septimus Wood, Jr.

Janet spent most of her life in Limerick, PA. A proud graduate of Spring-Ford High School, she was active in many school activities, including serving as a typist for the Ram Page, performing in the Color Guard, and acting as secretary for the Library Club.

Janet devoted over 31 years to Libra Systems, where she became known as “Janet 3000” for her unmatched precision and dedication – hand soldering every board and helping to assemble and ship over 1,800 systems.

Outside of work, Janet bowled in a league and filled her days with the things she loved; her morning crossword puzzle, a good Stephen King book, Elvis on the speakers, sitcoms that made her laugh, Broadway shows that lit up her heart, and naps she unapologetically enjoyed. Though she never learned to swim, she loved relaxing in the hot tub.

Known for her sharp wit and incredible sense of humor, Janet had a signature phrase – “I don’t know what to tell you” – often used when she had plenty to say but wisely held back. She was sharp, funny, warm, and deeply loved – and she’ll be missed more than words can say.

Surviving along with her husband, Harold, of over 62 years, is her daughter, Kathleen Dunlap; her grandchildren – Michael Cooney, husband of Jamie, Angela Matty, wife of Tom, and Nadine Cooney; her great grandchildren – Michael, Jacob, Jordan, and Matthew Cooney, and Thomas, Nathan, Joshua, and Adam Matty; her sister, Judy Weaver, wife of late William; and her brother, Thomas Wood, husband of Lorraine.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2025, from 9:00am to 10:30am at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd. (329 North Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468). A memorial service will be held at 10:30am at the funeral home.

Janet was a long time friend....we loved going to lunch and then to the movies. Then it was lunch at her home with an afternoon of watching a movie. Of course Janet always showed me the latest pictures of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Always updated me on what Kathy was doing and loved Don so much. She was so proud of all of them. We had so much fun and a lot of laughs....I will miss her greatly. RIP my dear friend - will see you again some day.

I attended Limerick Elementry all the way through graduation with Janet. She was always fun to be around. I visited her any time I was back to PA. She never lost her sense of humor and will be missed by many. Rest in peace friend.

I have Lost My Forever Best Friend
Memories last Forever
Many Bus Trips, Bowling, Watching Movies, Going out to Lunch, or eating in (Norristown Zeps).we always saved space for dessert & coffee. School Lunches we got to see pictures of the Grandkids. Janet was so proud of them all, and loved talking about them. They were her life, she loved them so much
Sometimes after lunch at home we would just sit and talk for hours. We always had something to talk about.
We also had many phone conversations over the years, catching up, or planning our next adventure.
I will always be missing my Forever Best Friend.
