Elizabeth “Betty” Mae (Weidner) Hallman, 97 of Pottstown passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at her home with her family by her side. Betty was born on October 20, 1927 in Pottstown, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Lewis and Ethel (Weller) Weidner. She was the wife of the late William Hallman.
Betty was a school secretary at Rupert Elementary School for 25 years until her retirement at which time she and her husband started an antique business which they enjoyed for many years. She and her husband also spent many years traveling to Florida in April and October and also enjoyed their mountain home in Tioga County. She enjoyed watching the Phillies games, reading and spending time with family and friends and loved being with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her children, Kathleen (Michael) Thrasher and David (Linda) Bush; her stepson, Gary (Monica) Hallman and daughter-in-law, Karen Bush (Steve P.); six grandchildren, Jennifer (Erik) Framhein, Steven (Sonya) Bush, Kelsey (Todd) Speilman, Kody (Lauren) Bush, Haydn (Cole) Swackhamer and Chad (Melissa) Thrasher; seven great grandchildren, Andrew and Christian Framhein; Ava and Ella Speilman; Addy and Mila Bush; and Emerson Bush.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Mabel Weidner and her son, Barry L. Bush.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Bechtelsville, PA.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464). A service will follow at 11:00AM at the funeral home with Pastor Eugene Zaiser officiating. Burial will be held privately by the family at a later date.
The family would like to thank the many aides from Chestnut Knoll at Home and hospice nurses from Brookdale Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to our mother. A special thank you to my mother’s neighbors Heidi and Damon for their help in caring for Betty.
