Sylvia (Coates) Hallman, 82

Sylvia (Coates) Hallman, 82, beloved wife to the late Stanley Hallman, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at Keystone Villa.

Born in England, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Madeline (Kearton) Coates.

Sylvia was a voracious reader, enjoying inspirational autobiographies and biographies along with a variety of newspapers that she cut up to share interesting stories with others. She was also very active in running Marathons, walked 5 miles almost every day, and insisted on healthy dietary choices.

During her career as an administrative assistant, she tackled her projects with determination and enthusiasm. She was recognized for her commitment to making sure every single slot was filled when heading up a blood drive.

A love for animals and nature filled her days and nights while she sought to make sure all homeless cats entering her yard were fed and loved. Each one was given a name and most became tame in her presence.

Surviving is her brother, Daniel Coates, nephews Stephen Hall; Jeffrey Hall; nieces Christina Coates and Danielle Coates. In addition to her parents and her husband, Sylvia was predeceased by her sisters, Diana (Coates) Hall and Georgina Coates.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Trinity Church of Boyertown (250 Swinehart Road, Boyertown, PA 19512). Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Church. Burial will be in Limerick Garden of Memories following the service.

Add My Condolences

Sylvia was such a dear, sweet lady. We met a few years back while I was walking with my dog. We chatted, laughed together and shared many stories on our walks. What a caring heart she had for all the cats that found their way to her house. She will always be lovingly remembered.
