Deborah “Deb” L. Hershberger, 62

Deborah L. (Madiro) Hershberger, 62, wife of David D. Hershberger Jr., passed away peacefully on Friday, October 24, 2025, surrounded by family at her home in Pottstown.

Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of Margaret “Peg” (Zilinkski) Madiro and the late LeRoy L. Madiro.

Deborah had a dedicated love for her family and friends. She was very detail oriented and was the main catalyst in planning birthday parties, celebrations, and gatherings. Deb had a love for hospitality. She was always caring for others and enjoyed hosting events. She enjoyed going to the beach with family and friends, frequenting Wildwood Crest and Rehoboth Beach. Deborah recently retired from Vanguard after a 34-year career as a manager. She was a member of New Ridge Fellowship Church and was previously a youth group leader at Lower Skippack Mennonite Church where she also helped organize many vacation bible schools. She also enjoyed crafts and spending time with her family. Deb had a long battle with metastatic breast cancer for a decade, but she never let that deter her from living her best life. Deb was strong, never complained about her illness, lived her life to the fullest and was driven by her strong bonding love for her granddaughters Emma and Lyvia.

Surviving along with her husband, David of 42 years, is her son Christopher D. Hershberger, husband of Katlyn; brother Jeffrey Madiro, husband of Gwen; grandchildren Emma Hershberger and Lyvia Russell; and in-laws David D. Hershberger Sr. and Sarah Hershberger.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday October 29, 2025, from 10:30AM-12:00PM at New Ridge Fellowship Church (2211 Swamp Pike, Gilbertsville, PA 19525) followed by a memorial service officiated by Pastor Ricky Ayala. The burial will then follow at Limerick Garden of Memories.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Unite for Her (https://uniteforher.org/) or to the Response Crew (https://responsecrew.org/) in Deborah’s name.
