Susan Ann Sutton-Walton, 78

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Susan Ann (née Koerner) Sutton-Walton on October 28, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on November 16, 1946, in Paterson, New Jersey, she was the cherished daughter of the late Henry and Sophie (Jankowski) Koerner.

Susan was an extraordinary woman. Known affectionately as the best mom anyone could ask for and the most incredible grandmother. Her boundless generosity and unwavering compassion touched everyone she encountered. She had an innate ability to prioritize the needs of others above her own, embodying a spirit of selflessness that inspired all around her. With immense courage and dignity, Susan faced life's challenges, leaving a legacy of strength for her family to follow. Her wit and sarcasm brought joy to countless moments, and her absence will be felt deeply by those fortunate enough to know her love. She will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered forever.

Susan was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Petty Officer Third Class, US Navy Jacob Asakiewicz, who brought her great pride and joy.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Ronald Walton; her loving children, Jennifer Sutton, Henry Sutton, and Amy Sutton (Alex Polo); and her treasured grandchildren, who were endlessly referred to as her "pumpkins"—Brian Asakiewicz, Jude Polo, and Angelo Polo.

In honoring her wishes, services will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to honor Susan's memory by making a donation to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, a cause that was very close to her heart.
