Louis “Rocky” Dolente, Jr., 64

Louis “Rocky” Dolente, Jr., 64, of East Coventry, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Louis R. Dolente, Sr. and Laura Mae (Bechtel) Dolente.

Louis was a one-of-a-kind man with many talents. He was deeply passionate about the things he cared
for, including spreading the message of salvation through Jesus Christ, farming and John Deere tractors, politics, singing and playing the organ, and spending time with his cherished family, friends, and animals.

He was known for his selfless acts of kindness—always willing to drop everything to help a stranger,
friend, or family member in need. He never hesitated to speak his mind, whether asked or not, and was
admired for taking the road less traveled and standing firmly by his convictions regardless of others’
opinions.

Louis is survived by his devoted wife, Josephine (Rocco) Dolente, and his children Gina Marie Madison, wife of James; Luigi Rocco Dolente; Gabriel “Philip” Dolente; Giuseppe Emmanuele Dolente; and Antonio Bruno Dolente. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren Giovanna Alessa Madison and Stella Joan Dolente; his sister Deby Whisler; and many other relatives and dear friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Kathy Dolente.

Visitation and funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Calvary Chapel Chester Springs, 217 Dowlin Forge Rd., Exton, PA 19341. Burial will be held privately, at a later date.

Add My Condolences

My cousin Lou was by far the best storyteller in our family. He shared so many memories of our grandparents and many other relatives. He was very good at impersonating each voice when sharing a memory. We will miss you, Lou, better known to us as “Rocky.” His testimony for the Lord Jesus is the best comfort each time I think of him.

My first cousin once removed, "Rocky" took me all around to "historic" places for the Bechtel family in East Coventry Township. A man of many talents, I was able to enjoy several fantastic Italian meals by he and Josie. What a wonderful feeling to be surrounded by love during my visits. We will miss you terribly. My deepest condolences to the family.

To the whole family: I love you so much and keeping your family lifted up in prayer during this difficult transition. Lou was
such a spirit filled man that brought so much joy to people when he entered a room. I’m so grateful for the honor to have met him in this lifetime.

Beloved Cousin and Friend.
We go back to our Childhood days because of our Grandmother’s ancestry. Lou danced the Tarantella at our Wedding Reception and gifted me a black lab puppy to celebrate my 40th birthday.
Our Families shared fun times together as the kids were growing up . SO MANY PRECIOUS MEMORIES!!!
I will be forever grateful that Lou and Josie joined my Husband and I on our very first trip to Italy to connect with Urbano and Tizzani Relatives.
To the entire Dolente Family, we share your Sorrow.
Sincerely,
Barbara Urbano Donaghy
