John W. Pfrommer, Jr., 82

John W. Pfrommer, Jr., 82, of Douglassville, passed away Thursday December 25, 2025 at his residence.

Born in Sellersville, he was the son of the late John W. Sr. and Glenna Victoria (Snyder) Pfrommer.

John graduated from Pottstown High School. He continued his education by attending Susquehanna University, in Selinsgrove, PA. After his graduation, he worked for his father’s trucking company. He eventually owned and operated John Pfrommer Inc., until the business was sold.

John always maintained an active lifestyle. He frequently worked out and was a member of; the Pottstown YMCA, The Pottstown Health Club, and Final Results Fitness. He also spent his time at a number of local hangouts. On the weekends, “Pfrommy” could be found at any his favorite spots, such as; Amity Fire Company, Pottstown Elks Lodge #814, Frankie & Johnnies’, Brookside Country Club, and Covatta’s Brinton Lodge. He was always happy to shoot the breeze, and share; old stories, his thoughts on the Eagles, and how much he loved his cat, Izzy.

John’s affinity for skiing drew him West. His condo in Utah was near; bunches of world-class slopes, the canyons of Mt. Zion, and the Bonneville Salt Flats. Skiing also took him around the globe, with adventures including; Telluride, Vermont, Jackson Hole, and Switzerland.

He held a lifelong adoration of auto racing. His father, John Sr., owned a sprint car that raced across America in the 1950s and 60s. The Pfrommer Offy was driven by several Indy 500 competitors, and one was one of the most successful cars of its era. John was heavily involved in the maintenance and upkeep of the car. During the summer, the racing operation would be headquartered in Indianapolis. His boyhood adoration of racing endured throughout his adult life. John attended every Indy500 from 1955 to 2025. In his 70 years of visiting Indianapolis, he was joined by countless family and friends. His passion for racing was only topped by his pride of being an ambassador for a city and sport he held near and dear to his heart.

Surviving is his wife Beverly Ann Pfrommer; partner of 26 years Lisa Camilli; daughters Stacy McGavin (Joseph D’Andrea) and Amy Iezzi wife of James; grandchildren Alex James “AJ” Iezzi and Emily Rose Iezzi; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Mary Dykie.

A memorial service will be held Saturday January 3, 2025 at 12:00 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC., 711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:30-11:45 AM at the funeral home.

My deepest sympathy Lisa and the Pfrommer family. I will always cherish the time spent with John and the many phone calls during the Pfrommer Offy research and during the writing of the book.
It is my honor to have restored the race car and put to text the fabulous racing history for which John was such an important part.
Patty and my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Godspeed.
