Mariann Gorman, 75

Mariann (Castagna) Gorman, 75, of Boyertown, wife of Edward J. Gorman, passed away peacefully on Friday January 9, 2026 at the Reading Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Mary (Furber) Castagna.

Mariann lived a life full of joy and had a positive influence on everyone she interacted with. She was a devout Catholic, and prioritized her faith in every aspect of life. Mariann was someone who was known to always put others before herself. She was a kind soul with a pure heart. She had a strong love for children as well as animals. In her free time she enjoyed reading, taking walks and doing crafts. She specifically had a knack for floral arrangements. When she wasn’t spending time with family or friends she would occupy the rest of her time with prayer. She was extremely thoughtful and was known to have a card for every occasion for all of her loved ones. Mariann prioritized her family --she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Her loving warmth and giving generosity knew no bounds.

Surviving along with her husband is her son Eddie Gorman; daughter Stephanie Sargent wife of William; grandchildren Jenna and Jake Gorman, and Morgan and Connor Sargent; great granddaughter Haley Sargent; and brothers Thomas Castagna husband of Esther and Joseph Castagna husband of Christine.

Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her son Timmy Gorman and siblings Augie Castagna, Leona Powderly, Tony Castagna, and Terry Castagna.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday January 16, 2026 at 12:00 PM at St. Columbkill Roman Catholic Church, 200 Indian Spring Rd., Boyertown, PA 19512. Visitation will be Friday from 10:30-11:45 AM at the church.

I last saw Mariann this past October in Atlantic City and had the most wonderful time talking with her and hearing about her youth. The energy and love of life and for her family was on her face, spoken through every word she uttered and felt. Her energy and laugh was uplifting and energizing. I send my deepest sympathy, love and prayers to the family.

Walt and I are very sorry for your loss. We have no doubt she has been greeted by our Lord and Savior himself. When I heard of her passing all I could think of how many years we shared with Marianne and her family. The Gormans have been lifelong friends of ours. We are very sorry for her passing, just seems like yesterday I had the privilege of meeting her along with "The Gormans ". You will be missed by all of us, may you rest in eternal peace..
