Eleanor Joan Sims, 92

Eleanor Joan (Borneman) Sims, 92, wife of the late Glenn A. Sims, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at Traditions of Lansdale. Born in Limerick, she was the daughter of the late Eleanor (Kline) and J. Ralph Borneman Sr.

Joan graduated from Pottstown High School and received her Registered Nursing degree from Reading School of Nursing. She retired from Pottstown Memorial Medical Center (now Pottstown Hospital) as an RN in the maternity unit.

She was married to the late Glenn A. Sims for 58 years. She is survived by her daughters, Michele R. Sims and Natalie J. Sims, both of Lansdale, PA, her brother J. Ralph Borneman Jr., her beloved cousins, and many nieces and nephews.

Joan loved music. She was a member of the Melody Maids singing group for a number of years, and participated with Natalie in a community theater production of The Sound of Music as a nun. She enjoyed seeing Broadway shows, doing jigsaw puzzles, going to craft shows and getting mani-pedis.

A visitation will be held Friday, January 16, 2026 from 9 to 10am at Catagnus Funeral Home, 1020 East Philadelphia Avenue, Gilbertsville, PA. A brief service will follow at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Limerick Garden of Memories.

Add My Condolences

It is with many memories of a wonderful mentor and friend that I write this condolence. Joan was a wonderful nursing colleague. We had a lot of fun times. It was a pleasure to go to work. Joan was a mentor not only professionally but personally. She was with me when my kids were born and we remained friends after I moved away. It is with much sadness that I come to the realization that she is no longer here. She will always be in my heart.
