Eleonore Valentine (Roszkowski) Groves, 90, wife of the late Richard Francis Groves, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2026, surrounded by her family at her home in Royersford.
Born in Atlas, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Henrietta (Grochowski) Roszkowski.
Eleonore was a registered nurse for over 40 years taking care of others. Outside of work, she enjoyed traveling abroad with her sisters. She liked spending summers at the shore in Longport, NJ. Eleonore had strong Catholic Faith and was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Church in Royersford. In her down time, Eleonore was an avid reader, enjoyed doing crosswords and puzzles, playing cards, and going to the casino to play the slots.
Surviving are her four children Donna Catagnus, wife of the late Anthony S. Catagnus, Richard Groves, Robert Groves, husband of Bobbi, and Denise Shuler, wife of Richard; grandchildren Anthony Jr., Andrew (Amanda), Nicholas (Cara), Jenn, Brittany (TJ), Rickey (Julia), and Emily; great grandchildren Thomas, Carmella, Luccianna, Carlotta, Reese, Kennedy, and Charlotte. She is predeceased by her grandson Robbie Groves; her sisters Loretta, Pauline, Jackie, Henrietta, and Mary; her sisters-in-law Nancy (Luke), Betty (Jim), Rosie, Kathleen, and Mary.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 9:00AM-10:30AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd (329 N. Lewis Rd., Royersford, PA 19468). A memorial mass will follow at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Church (838 Walnut St, Royersford, PA 19468) with Fr. Gorka officiating. Burial will be held by the family at a later date.
