Joan E. Bartman, 89

Joan E. (Egolf) Bartman, 89, wife of the late Clarence “Butch” Bartman, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Keystone Villa.

Born in Stowe, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Helen (Neiman) Egolf.

Joan was a graduate of Pottsgrove High School. She was awarded Basco’s Annual Award for highest ranking scholastic and athletic ability. Following high school, Joan was a secretary for Firestone and a HR Consultant for Occidental Chemical Corporation. She was always very athletic and enjoyed participating in bowling leagues and became a golfer later in life when her husband introduced the game to her. Joan and Butch would travel all over playing golf together with friends and were in the Twin Ponds League for many years.

Joan enjoyed riding horses from a young age. She and her daughters loved supporting her husband’s football teams when he coached at Pottsgrove High School for many years. Joan enjoyed watching football and the Philadelphia Phillies. She was a fantastic cook and baker and most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her daughters Kelli Brown, wife of Daniel O. Brown, Kristi Gilbert, wife of Scott A. Gilbert; grandchildren Daniel A. Brown, significant other of Matti Gartner, Alexandra M. Mazzola, wife of David, Mitchell J. Gilbert, husband of Leeann, Karli Sedor, wife of Michael; great grandchildren Talia and Milania. She is predeceased by her siblings Douglas Egolf, Melvin Egolf, and Bernice Werner.

A memorial graveside service will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, at 12:00PM at St. John’s Byzantine Cemetery (1435 N Hanover St, Pottstown, PA 19464) with Pastor Les Cool officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA (1059 Sweisford Rd, Perkiomenville, PA 18074) in Joan’s name.
