David Samuel Freed, 78

David Samuel Freed, 78, husband of Linda (Snyder) Freed, passed away peacefully at his home on January 30, 2026. David, of Boyertown, PA was the son of the late Thomas Freed and Leah Mae (Conrad) Freed. He is predeceased by his sister Joan (Freed) Taylor and brother William Freed.


David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose life was defined by dedication to his family, his work, and the people around him. An avid golfer, he greatly enjoyed time on the course, where he found both relaxation and camaraderie.


David spent many years as a respected manager at Schmoyer’s Home Center in Boyertown, Pennsylvania, where he was known for his leadership and commitment to customer service. In the later part of his career, he continued his professional life at A.D. Moyer in Pottstown, where he remained a valued and trusted employee.


Above all, David cherished his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Linda (Snyder) Freed; his son, Jamie Freed, husband of Nicole (Hildebrandt) Freed; and his 15 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; Ryder Freed, husband of Haley Freed, and sons Boone and Milo; Eve Freed; Dawson Freed, husband of Victoria Freed, and son James; Tessa Freed; Leif Freed; Sawyer Freed; Griffen Freed; Maeve Freed; Aspen Freed; Celeste Freed; Violet Freed; Neve Freed; Jasper Freed; Holt Freed; Pearl Freed; his nephew Steven Taylor, husband of Tammy (Gaugler) Taylor, son Joshua and daughter Abby; niece Crystal (Freed) Dean, wife of Carl Dean, and daughters Leah and Gabriella; his brother-in-law Duke Snyder, daughter Denise and husband Tom Loeper, all of whom were a source of great pride and joy in his life.


David will be remembered for his steady presence, his kindness, and his unwavering devotion to those he loved. His legacy lives on through his family and all who were fortunate enough to know him.


Burial will take place at St John-Hill Church, Boyertown, in a private ceremony at the convenience of the family.
