Harold T. Edmondson (1952–2026)

Harold T. Edmondson, age 73, passed away on February 2, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of resilience, technical mastery, and a love story that inspired everyone who witnessed it. Though born in Harrisburg, Harold’s life entered its most meaningful chapter in 1976 when he moved to Indiana County to attend school. It was there that he met Susan, the woman who would become his lifelong partner and whom he almost exclusively called his "Angel."

A Love Without Limits

Harold and Susan’s connection was instantaneous, leading to a marriage that served as a testament to the power of devotion. Together, they navigated the world with shared blindness, but more importantly, a shared vision for their family. They took immense pride in raising their two daughters independently—a feat of determination and love that proved no obstacle was too great for them to overcome as a team.

The Master Tinkerer

Harold was a man of remarkable tactile skill and intellect. Despite his blindness, he was certified in Auto Repair, possessing a legendary ability to "tinker" with engines. He understood the language of mechanics through touch and sound, often diagnosing what others could not see.

His curiosity reached far beyond the garage as a dedicated DXer. Harold spent countless hours at his radio, scanning the airwaves for distant signals from across the globe. When he wasn't at his radio, he was likely in the company of his beloved cats and dogs, as his home was always open to the animals he so dearly loved.

Family and New Beginnings

In 2019, Harold and Susan moved to Spring City to be closer to their family. Even in this later chapter of life, Harold’s warmth allowed him to cultivate deep new friendships for which he was incredibly grateful.

Harold was the son of the late Edward W. and Mary E. Edmondson. He is survived by his "Angel," Susan J. Edmondson; his daughters, Treasure Maack (married to James R. Maack) of Royersford and Mindy L. Pomeroy (married to John Pomeroy) of Warrenton, VA; and his beloved grandchildren, Noah Smith, Madison Smith, Abigail Maack, and James C. Maack.

Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories of Harold during a Celebration of Life Luncheon at Kimberton Golf Club on Sunday, February 15th, 2026 at noon.

I worked with Harold and Susan at the Indiana County Blind Association years ago so sorry for your loss I was in the truck driver that picked up and shred documents where Harold occasionally helped out doing the shredding and I also helped around the building. Very nice people. Again my condolences to you and your family.
