Jere McDonald, 72

Jere McDonald, 72, of North Coventry, PA, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on January 15 in Aruba while enjoying life at its fullest with Carol and lifelong friends. Born in Washington Boro, PA he was a son of the late John and Joanne McDonald, a graduate of Penn Manor High School (‘71) and University of Maryland (‘75). After a rewarding career with Sperry Univac/Unisys where he traveled the world, he enjoyed 17 years of retirement with his family and beloved dog, Scout. He engaged in hiking, biking, hunting, archery, timbering, off-road motorcycling, racquetball, pickleball, traveling and fishing/kayaking at his Lake Home in the Poconos.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carol (Centini) McDonald, a son, Scott, Mt Pocono, PA, a daughter Kaitlyn Holmes (Brett) and adored grandchildren, Matthew and Janie Holmes, Chester Springs, PA. Also, a brother, Jay McDonald (Lynda) Michigan, a sister, Jill Fry (Ray) North Carolina, Barry Centini (Philippa), Virginia, five nieces and nephews and untold friends. He will be remembered for his quick wit, ability to fix anything and devotion to family.

A life celebration (casual dress) will be held at Cedarville UM Church on Saturday, March 7, 2026 @ 11am with drop in visitation Friday, March 6, 6:00-7:30 and Saturday 9:30-11:00 for the long-time trustee and financial secretary. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions remembering Jere can be made to Cedarville UM Church, 1092 Laurelwood Road, Pottstown, PA 19465.

So sorry to hear of Jere's passing. Jere was a long time member of mytractorforum and I was always so delighted to see and read his posts and his writings. He will be missed greatly! He was one of those "if he speaks, you pay attention" guys. My condolences to the family
