Mary Jane Werkley, 75

Mary Jane J. Werkley, 75, of North Coventry, was the wife of the late John L. Werkley, III. She passed away at her home surrounded by her family on March 15, 2026

Mary Jane was born in Philadelphia to Eugene and Mary Pondo (Zygmont). She was a 1968 graduate of Roxborough High School. She attended Delaware County Community College and received an associates degree as a registered nurse. She worked on the maternity floor of Pottstown Hospital in the newborn nursery. She enjoyed the beach and collecting shells, baking, gardening, playing cards and board games, and spending time with her friends and family. She was a parishioner at St Thomas More Catholic Church in Pottstown where she regularly volunteered her time. She was a member of her church choir for many years and loved to sing.

Surviving are her children John L Werkley IV fiancée of Susan Temple, Jeffrey Werkley husband of Denise Werkley, and Jennifer Alicea Werkley. Her grandchildren Robert McGee, John L Werkley V, Jacob Alicea, Tyler Werkley, Maria Alicea, Noah Werkley, and Jamie Werkley. Survived by her sister Barbara Kleinguenther, predeceased by her brothers Eugene Pondo and Kenneth Pondo, and her sister Karen Clarke. She had a large extended family including 8 Godchildren.

Funeral mass will be held at St Thomas More Church on Friday, March 20th, 2026 at 2101 Pottstown Pike Pottstown, PA 19465. Visitation will be 9:30-10:45. Mass will be at 11am with internment to follow.

So sad to hear about you and your family and friends loss of your mom. I remember her as a funny lady back in high school helping out with the plays in Drama. Sending everyone in your family many condolences and prayers to you.
