Patricia “Patt” Alexanderson, 89

Patricia “Patt” A. Alexanderson, 89, wife of Elbert O. Alexanderson, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Reading Hospital.

Born in Indiana and a graduate of Hammond High, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Edward Merritt and Edith (Ferris) Merritt.

Patt loved the English language and could often be found reading books with a pen in her hand so that she could correct any grammatical errors she would catch. She even tutored and volunteered to teach adults to read. She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always able to make her family laugh. Patt loved to travel and lived by her motto, “I love having wheels under my feet.”

Patt adored her husband, Elbert. They were two peas in a pod, and he was a very loving husband to her. Patt also had a love for all animals, always had dogs and cats as pets, and had a special soft spot in her heart for rescued animals.

Surviving along with her husband Elbert of 62 years is her daughter Tracy Antul, wife of John; son James Alexanderson, husband of Kathy; and grandchildren Jennifer Alexanderson; Krysten Hinkle, wife of Rick; Nikki Cleveland, wife of Luke, and Amy Coreman Alexanderson. She is predeceased by her son Thomas Edward Alexanderson, her daughter Rebecca Jean Alexanderson, and grandson Thomas Edward Alexanderson.

Services will be held privately at the convenience of her family.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Patt’s memory to Mountain Shelter Humane Society Adoption Center (129 Bowling Gap Cir, Blairsville, GA 30512) https://www.mtnshelter.org/donate in Patricia’s name.
