M William “Bill” Paul Waid, 56, passed away on April 19, 2026, at home, surrounded by his family. Bill is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Waid; his children, Marcus, Siena, Francesca, Dante, and Dominic; and his mother Shirley Waid. He was preceded in death by his father Marvin Waid.
Born and raised in Oley, Pennsylvania, Bill lived in Spring City, where he built a life defined by devotion to his family, his work, and his values. Above all else, Bill’s greatest priority and deepest love was his family.
Bill was a graduate of Lehigh University, where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. He dedicated over 30 years of his work to FICO, most recently serving as Chief Product and Technology Officer. His colleagues describe him as a rare kind of leader, who inspired people by painting a compelling vision that pulled your heart, mind, and soul. He was widely respected for his intellect, vision, and, most importantly, humanity.
Those who knew and loved him describe him as one of the most brilliant people they had ever known. What set him apart was how highly observant he was, providing balanced and thoughtful guidance. Bill used his wit and intelligence to elevate those around him. Many have acknowledged his mentorship changed their lives, it led them to deeper understanding through his questions, patience, and his quiet conviction.
While he was accomplished in his professional life, his world revolved around his wife and children. We loved to travel as a family and create lasting memories on trips around the world. He enjoyed fine wine, cigars, and was an exceptional cook. He also had a highly diverse skill set, including woodworking; Bill created beautiful work with care and precision. His work lives throughout every corner of our family home. Bill never did anything halfway, sometimes to the point of excess which was a source of humor for family and friends. He was always striving for mastery of anything that had his attention.
At his core, Bill was guided by his faith. He lived with a quiet strength, accepting life as it came with humility, compassion, and resolve. He believed deeply in God’s plan and carried that belief through every challenge, trusting in a purpose greater than himself. Even in his final months, his focus remained on others, on being a source of strength and on guiding his family with love, presence, and example, to which he fulfilled beyond measure.
Bill was a man of compassion and selflessness, someone who consistently put others before himself. As his family, we loved him not only for what he did, but for who he was. His presence brought comfort, his guidance brought clarity, and his love was constant and unwavering.
He will be remembered for the love he gave freely, the strength he embodied, the wisdom he shared, and the steady presence that made those around him feel safe, supported, and deeply cared for. We miss him in every moment, and we find comfort in knowing he is at peace with our Lord.
A celebration of life will be held with family and close friends.
