Barbara “Bobbi” Sundstrom, 86

Barbara “Bobbi” Sundstrom, 86, of Pottstown, wife of the late Carl Irvin Sundstrom, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at Reading Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Pottstown on September 21, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Barbara (Dillman) Eck.

Barbara was the most beautiful and kind soul who touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her life was marked by unwavering dedication to her family- she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Barbara’s home was always filled with warmth, love, and kindness; and she always welcomed you with open arms. Although her passing so close to carl’s passing is heartbreaking, we are only comforted by the thought that she is at peace with him. Given the depth of their bond, it is not surprising that she followed him so soon.

Barbara worked at Milton’s in Pottstown, a children’s clothing store, prior to its closing, for many years. She also worked as a cashier in the Pottstown High School Cafeteria, and in the elementary kitchen at the high school, preparing school lunches for all the elementary schools, before retiring several years ago.

Barbara was a huge Phillies fan and loved watching their games!

Barbara was a member of the First United Methodist Church, which later merged with Cedarville United Methodist Church.

Barbara is survived by her children: Karen Surman, wife of the late Samuel Surman, Robin Remigio, Jeffrey Sundstrom, husband of Debbra, and Todd Sundstrom, husband of Amy. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Christian, Joshua, Jared, Seth, Krista, Danielle, J.C., Taylor, and Austin, and nine great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Harold Eck Jr.

Services will be held privately by the family at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, LLC. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice in Barbara’s memory.
