George James Robinson, 83, of Springfield, Delaware County, devoted husband of nearly 44 years to Nancy Elisabeth (Grace) Robinson, passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Brandywine Senior Living in Upper Providence.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, George was raised and educated in Clifton Heights, Delaware County, and was the first-born son of the late George A. Robinson and Dolores (Monroe) Robinson.
George proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a petty officer aboard the USS Bordelon in the Vietnam War, during which he received several commendations, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Vietnam Service Medal. After working at RCA and later at PECO Energy, an Exelon company, he retired in 1995 as a Gas Methods and Training Instructor. Shortly after retiring, George returned to PECO as a contractor in a similar capacity working for several more years.
In retirement, George and Nancy enjoyed traveling throughout Europe and the Caribbean and enjoyed spending time with family at the NJ shore. With a keen interest in politics, George frequently blogged on political topics and shared his viewpoints with a wide audience. He also had a deep love for animals, having rescued and adopted many pets throughout his life and was a devoted supporter of the ASPCA and World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
Surviving, in addition to his wife Nancy, are stepdaughter, Jennifer Elisabeth Ray; son-in-law, William (Billy) Sternberg; brother, James F. Robinson, wife, Donna, nieces, Cindy and Laura; along with several nephews and nieces.
In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his younger brother, Donald E. Robinson, nephew Christopher Robinson and brother-in-law Eugene C. Grace.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 4:30 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Ltd., 329 N. Lewis Road, Royersford, PA 19468. Visitation will be from 3:00 PM to 4:15 PM at the funeral home.
