David “Dave” Alan Burns, 68, of Lower Pottsgrove, passed away on Friday, June 12, 2026, at his home.

Born in Shamokin, PA, he was the son of the late Casper and Helen (Costelnock) Burns.

Dave graduated from Shamokin Area High School and Northumberland County VoTech in 1975 where he completed radio/TV courses. Following graduation, Dave enlisted in the United States Air Force serving 4 years of active duty mostly in Saudi Arabia. He also served 2 years in the Air Force Reserves.

Dave was a very hard worker. He worked at Limerick Clean Energy Center for his whole career.

Surviving along with his long-time companion Carrie (Ulsh) Stadelmaier, are his several cousins. He is predeceased by his brother Eddie Burns.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 4:30 PM at Catagnus Funeral Home (711 N. Franklin St., Pottstown, PA 19464). Burial will be held at All Saints Cemetery in Elysburg on Monday, June 22, 2026 at 11:00AM. A viewing will also be held on Friday, June 19, 2026 from 3:30PM-4:30PM at the funeral home.

Dave was a great asset to the instrument society. When Dave performed maintenence on plant equipment he ensured the instrument was calibrated and maintained to the highest standards. Dave will be greatly missed.

I worked with Dave at Limerick. His contribution to that plant over the years is beyond measure. He was funny, frendly, and always willing to help. I will miss him.

My condolences to Dave’s family. I served with him at Pope AFB NC 78-79. I was from Pottsville so we both grew up in the coal region. I remember catching a ride to Pottsville and back as he was on his way to Shamokin with him over one of the holiday’s.
