Robert L. Yocom (Big Bob), 83, beloved husband of the late Cheryl Lynn Yocom, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Berkshire Complete Care in Reading, PA.
Born in Pottstown, PA, he was the son of the late Edward and Helen (Swavely) Yocom.
Robert was an avid fisherman who loved a nice day out on the water whenever he had the opportunity. He enjoyed traveling to Rehoboth Beach, DE with his family, and trips up to the mountains. If it was a beautiful day out, you could catch Robert on his motorcycle, taking in the fresh air as he rode the open highway and back roads. When Robert was younger, he became a barber, and later in life he would selflessly use his talents and visit older friends and family who couldn’t drive, and cut their hair. But most of all, Robert was a family man who cherished every minute spent with them.
Surviving Robert are his children, Jason Yocom, husband of Chris Sczepkowski; Randy Yocom; Jamie Yocom; grandchildren Devon Yocom-Bonenberger; Cory Yocom; Christian Yocom; Logan Macomber; Alexis Macomber; Natalie-Anne (Yocom) Arnold; JT Yocom, Jr.; great-grandchildren Ophelia and Ryett Bonenberger; Remmy and Bentley Macomber; Penelope Jane Arnold; sister-in-law Dottie Yocom; In addition to his wife and parents, Robert was predeceased by his brothers Sterling Yocom, and his wife, Shirley, Nelson Yocom, and David Yocom.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum, (701 Farmington Avenue, Pottstown, PA 19464) followed by inurnment. A visitation will also be held on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
