David Francis Gordon Sr., 67, of Gilbertsville, Pennsylvania, passed away on August 12, 2026.
Born in Philadelphia, David was the son of the late Charles and Frances Gordon and the youngest of four siblings, growing up alongside his brothers, Robert and Chuck, and his sister, Patsy.
David shared 44 years of marriage with his wife, Cynthia (Speier) Gordon. Together, they built a life and family that meant everything to him. He loved Cynthia deeply, and the life they created together remained at the heart of who he was.
He was the father of Jennifer Nemec (husband, Eric Nemec II) and David Gordon (wife, Casey Gordon). One of David's most treasured roles was that of “Poppy.” He was the proud grandfather of Kennedy Morgan Nemec, 13; Eric Cameron Nemec III, 11; Beau Charles Gordon, 8; Maisy Jo Gordon, 8; and Reese Taylor Gordon, 4, with another grandchild on the way.
David loved his family fiercely and lived with a passion that was unmistakably his. He believed life should be full—full of family, experiences, traditions, celebrations, and memories. That passion extended well beyond his family. David was a devoted Philadelphia sports fan, particularly when it came to the Phillies and Eagles, and he had a lifelong love of all things automotive. His enthusiasm ranged from day-to-day mechanical work to the thrill of joining a pit crew at a NASCAR race. And then there was Sadie Mae, his beloved dog and faithful companion, who could often be found cuddled beside him watching a game in the Gilbertsville home that David felt had been built just for them.
David is survived by his siblings Robert and Patsy; his wife, Cynthia; his children, Jennifer and David, and their spouses; his five grandchildren and grandchild on the way.
Services will be held on Friday, August 21, at Limerick Garden of Memories (44 E Arcadia Dr, Limerick, PA 19468), with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel; service immediately following at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, celebrate David’s life by creating a memory of your own. Gather your family, plan an adventure, cheer for your team, or simply spend time together.
