Matthew P. Bungay, 56, of Pottstown, husband of Maureen A. McGough-Bungay, passed away Thursday September 3, 2026 at his residence.
Born in Norristown, he was the son of the late James P. and Marie C. (Tuinman) Bungay.
Matt was happiest when he had a home project to work on. He enjoyed fishing, vegetable gardening. He was a patriotic man who loved spending time with his family and friends. Matt had a great sense of humor and a passion for music, especially playing the drums.
Surviving along with his wife is his sons Maximillian Bungay husband of Amanda, Alexander Bungay husband of Claudia, and Collin Bungay; grandchildren Dahlia and Charlotte Bungay; sisters Kathleen Massaro wife of Frank, Patricia Bungay-Birch wife of Victor, and Eileen McGowan wife of Gordon; brothers Brendan Bungay husband of Judi, and Timothy Bungay; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday September 8, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Aloysius Church, 223 Beech St., Pottstown, PA 19464. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 9:30-10:45 AM at the church gathering center.
