William “Bill” David Angstadt, 93, husband of the late Virginia R. (Mathias) Angstadt, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Chestnut Knoll in Boyertown.
Born in Pottstown, he was the son of the late Elmer and Mae (Kirkhoff) Angstadt.
Bill served in the Navy, stationed in Key West. He served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1954. Bill had a love for flying and owned three different planes after leaving the Navy. He was also an avid motorcycle enthusiast, owning multiple motorcycles over the years.
As his kids were growing up, Bill introduced them to roller skating, camping in a pop-up camper, fishing, and swimming and diving. He was a school bus driver for many years and a voracious reader. The Boyertown Community Library knew him by name! Bill was an active member at Calvary United Church of Christ in Barto, serving in leadership roles and assisting in many events they held through the year. In his later years, Bill enjoyed meeting his friends at McDonald's for coffee and camaraderie.
Surviving is his daughter Lisa Hollenbach; son Jeffrey Angstadt, husband of Cecilia; son Colin Angstadt, husband of Elise; grandchildren Stephanie Hollenbach, Andrew Hollenbach, Alexia Angstadt, and Maximus Angstadt; and great grandchildren Nolan and Tessa Smith. He is predeceased by his daughter Kelly Angstadt and his brother Jack Angstadt.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home (1020 E. Philadelphia Ave, Gilbertsville, PA 19525) with Donna House officiating. Burial will follow at Christ Union Cemetery in Niantic. Visitation will also be held on Thursday, September 17, 2026 from 10:00AM-11:00AM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Boyertown Community Library (24 N Reading Ave, Boyertown, PA 19512) in William’s name.
